Privacy Policy
Strike Price: Discount Display ("Strike Price", "the app", "we") is a Shopify app operated by Benedetto Abbenanti (sole proprietor, Italy). This policy explains what data the app processes, why, and what your rights are. The short version: the app displays your existing automatic discounts on your storefront, collects no personal data about your customers, and never modifies your products or prices.
Data we collect from merchants
When you install the app, we receive and store through the Shopify APIs:
- Shop identifiers — your myshopify.com domain and shop ID.
- An API access token — scoped to read products, discounts, and themes only. The app has no write access to your catalog.
- Widget settings — the appearance options you configure (colors, badge text, display format).
- Subscription status — your current plan (Free or Pro), retrieved from Shopify's billing system.
We do not collect names, emails, addresses, or payment details of merchants beyond what Shopify provides for app operation, and we never see your Shopify login credentials.
Data about your customers
None. When a shopper views a product, your storefront requests the discounted price for that product from the app. That request contains the product handle and your shop domain — it does not contain the shopper's identity, and the app does not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any tracking on your storefront. Prices are computed in memory and briefly cached per product, not per person. The app does not read, store, or process any customer personal data.
How data is used
- To compute and display discounted prices on your storefront in real time.
- To save your widget appearance settings.
- To determine your plan and enable the corresponding features.
We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than operating the app.
Storage and retention
Shop data (session tokens, settings, plan status) is stored on our hosting infrastructure for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends us the mandatory GDPR webhooks and we delete the shop's stored data. Because the app holds no customer personal data, customer data requests and customer redaction requests result in no action — there is nothing to export or delete.
Third parties
- Shopify — all product, discount, and billing data is exchanged directly with Shopify's APIs (Shopify's privacy policy).
- Hosting provider — the app's server infrastructure, which processes requests on our behalf under standard data-processing terms.
The marketing pages on this site set no cookies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar regulations, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data we hold about your shop at any time. Uninstalling the app triggers deletion automatically. For any request or question, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
